If you come here to grab the new mashups, you probably noticed I don’t feature many tracks with rap or hip-hop vocals. It’s not because I don’t like either, it’s because many of them don’t offer much artistry or push the mashup genre to another level. It doesn’t mean they’re bad, but I want y’all to hear the mashes that I think offer something a little bit extra. Now having said all that, this week’s mashup features Yung Joc‘s It’s Goin’ Down rap set to Fireflies, the twee and sparkly breakout smash by Owl City. And that’s what I love about this blend: that the super talented fellas of The White Panda used an unexpected pop hit and created something slick, sweet, ‘n street. And I believe this is the first mashup to use this music, so extra points there, too. Enjoy more goodies from The White Panda here.
