ARE THE JEN ANISTON / BRAD PITT TAPES REAL?!?

good morning! i can't believe STAR magazine didn't give jennifer aniston a break for her 40th birthday - which actually happens to be today - happy birthday jen! this week she's featured front & center (again) with the revelation of supposed secret recordings between jen and her ex-hubby brad pitt - i swear they're making this scandal bigger than watergate ever was! of course i love a good juicy gossip story but i'm really growing tired of hearing about this particular situation - it's water under the bridge as far as i'm concerned - he's with angelina jolie now - and she's got john mayer who apparently penned and recorded an original song to give to her as a birthday present (i wonder if we'll get to hear it somehow?)

however crazy as this story appears to be on first glance - it actually stems from a recent interview jen did with marie claire magazine saying i still have the cassette tapes of messages from my first boyfriend, my second boyfriend, my husband ... it's like saving love letters. so i guess i have the answer to my headline - although they're more like old voicemails rather than 'secret recordings' - STAR had to amplify jen's quote for dramatic and eye-catching effect! at this point i seriously hope she's really able to let go and move on - girlfriend needs to toss those tapes into the ocean and forget about it! i wish them all nothing but happiness and hopefully this story will die someday - but a few years have passed and it's still going strong! popbytes over & out for now...xoxo

PS could things be over for jessica simpson and tony romo? i hope not - the last thing she needs is being dumped - we'd probably see her gain even more weight - jenny craig might not want her right now but i bet they're keeping a very close eye on her!

In the new issue of Star we report that following Jennifer Aniston's stunning admission that she keeps a collection of recorded messages from ex-hubby Brad Pitt, insiders tell us that it goes far behind saving mementos - the actress obsessively listens to the tapes regularly in an attempt to relive the joy of their early romance. "She's spent many lonely nights going through old keepsakes," an insider tells Star.

Among her favorite messages is one from when she and Brad first started dating, says a source. Jen still gets butterflies when she hears Brad whispering passionately, "I love you, Ms. Aniston." And, "I can't wait to get my hands on you, Golden." That was his pet name for her, the pal explains, and she called him "Baby." Another came after a spicy evening, Brad left this morning-after message: "You're the perfect lover!" SOURCE
