good evening y’all! i’m still laughing from this morning when the NY post‘s gatecrasher posted this ridiculously delicious rumor that i can’t stop thinking about…
Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony may have renewed their wedding vows a mere three months ago, but their rocky romance will likely bite the dust right after Valentine’s Day, says an insider. “Marc and Jennifer are planning on announcing their divorce right after Marc’s show at Madison Square Garden on Feb. 14,” a friend of the couple tells us. “Jennifer is planning on joining Marc onstage for a surprise duet. Things haven’t been right for a while now, and they thought it would be a bittersweet farewell.” SOURCE
i simply can’t believe jennifer lopez and marc anthony will announce the end of their four-year marriage and then sing a duet together on valentine’s day – it sounds like something out of a bad & tacky telenovela! i’d actually love to be there that night to if this shit goes down like ‘an insider’ says it will – i’ll be shocked if it actually happens! the split does seem inevitable – they’ve been plagued by split rumors for weeks now but i just can’t see ‘em announcing it on stage like that yet they’ll gain points for dramatic effect if they do (keep in mind – she did announce her pregnancy while on tour) perhaps the couple can spin this off into a musical (hopefully not like the disastrous flick el cantante) the ‘divorce duet’ would mark the end of act I – they just need to figure out what’s going to happen in act II! perhaps after the duet comes to an end the divorce gets super nasty – i wonder if they even signed a prenup agreement? i’m assuming she’ll gain custody of twins max & emme (his ex-wife dayanara torres must be loving all of this drama!)
although i was not a fan of the couple at all when they first got together – they’ve grown on me – i’m quite bummed to see it all come to an end (well, not really – it’s just the sentimental side of me talking – four years is a long ass time in hollywood) right now you can get your fill of jen & marc singing together by watching the video for no me ames posted below – it’s such a guilty pleasure song! (it might even be the song they plan to sing together on valentine’s day…) plus there’s pictures of ms. lopez flying solo at the los angeles premiere of the curious case of benjamin button (on december 8th) where she was spotted sans her wedding ring – which totally kicked the rumors into high gear! popbytes over & out for tonight…xoxo
