NYC AGAINST PROPOSITION 8 (AKA PROP HATE)

good evening y'all! earlier tonight over in new york city - there was a huge protest & rally against prop 8 which sadly somehow passed here in california last week - i was so elated that barack obama was elected to be our next president but i was so bummed out that people would vote to take away marriage rights for gays (it made me feel bad about myself - and i don't like to feel that way) we're not asking for any special treatment - just equal treatment - it's not harming anyone - it just boggles my mind that the many religious freaks in this country think they can control people - please don't get me started on any organized religion - it's all such a big sham - i've never been a religious person (raised catholic - something i would never refer to myself as now) all you need to do is be a good person and follow 'the golden rule' - do unto others as you would have others do unto you - it's a pretty simple concept folks!

people were outside the mormon church located on columbus avenue - the church was one of the largest donors behind the campaign of hate! whoopi goldberg even showed up to show her support (i do love her but i wish she still did movies - she's done some hilarious ones - like jumpin' jack flash) this coming saturday i'll be heading downtown to take part in a protest in front of LA's city hall - apparently there will be protests taking place all over the country! i know in the end we'll win the right to marry and enjoy equality along with everyone else - even though it's going to be an uphill battle - we're totally in this for the long run! popbytes over & out for tonight...xoxo
