good morning! thankfully i was able to sleep last night – yesterday i was totally bummed out but i was so very happy last night to see tons of protesters hitting the streets of los angeles to protest the passing of proposition 8 – i should have went down but by the time i realized i should – it was too late and i was really drained! all that drama aside – i’m still really thrilled about barack obama being elected our next president – this week my pal DJ paul v. is bringing us an ‘obama mashmix’ for this week’s ‘mashup of the week’ – check it out below! popbytes over & out for now…xoxo

24 hours after watching Barack Obama become our next president, it’s all finally begun to sink in. Like millions of people, the flood of emotions and jubilation and incredible joy of being a part of this moment is hard to put to words. Conversely, watching some citizens continue to vote for discrimination against gay people seems so completely at odds with the very president they voted for, and what his message represents: hope and equality.
But we shouldn’t forget how Mr. Obama inspired us, that we can only all get better and work harder for what we believe in, and know is right. So for this week, I’m featuring the lead-off tracks from my Obama Megamix – the first being ‘Obamatat’ by Justin Lowe, and the second being ‘AerObama’ (Daft Punk vs. Adam Freeland). You’ll hear Obama’s voice itself in the mix, plus a pretty cool spelling lesson/chant at the end. Play it loud, play it proud, and remember: Yes we can, and yes we DID!
