DAMN - THAT MUST'VE HURT!

oh my word - i'm all for body piercing (i've got both of my nipples pierced along w/ my bellybutton and my neck...yes my neck...i know it does sound a bit odd but i really wanted to get pierced in a place most people don't - i've had it for almost ten years now and i don't see myself taking it out anytime soon) yes there's a drop of pleasure in getting pierced but i certainly could not stand the pain from being hung from a bunch of hooks in stuck in my back - holy freakin' cow - i feel faint just thinking about it! brave performance artist alice newstead was hung up in a lush window over in london for about fifteen minutes - helping to promote the store's new line of 'shark fin soap' - a blue soap made with seaweed & sea salt with a cardboard shark fin sticking out the top...no sharks were harmed in the making of this beauty product (apparently sharks are hooked and killed just for their fins which supposedly contain magical properties) i get the statement the store was trying to make with their window display but i bet it turned off more people than it enticed - i do love lush products but they need to calm their asses down! popbytes over & out for tonight...xxoo

Alice's performance is very reminiscent of what happens to sharks when they are caught. When they are caught the sharks are pulled from the water, their fins are sliced off, and they are kicked back into the ocean, so they sink to the bottom and suffer a slow death. Fins are the most lucrative part of the shark, which explains the massive escalation in the numbers of sharks killed in the last few years.

good evening! since this morning i wrote up a whole rant on sarah palin - i don't think i can write about her again although she is featured front & center on the latest cover of national enquirer with her dark secrets - i'm quite sure we'll finding out some more scandalous tidbits about the lady before everything's said and done (as far as her 'culture of fear' speech tonight at the RNC - all i can say is tina fey must make an appearance as ms. palin on the season premiere of saturday night live)

let's talk about something a lot more fun - did you all watch the two-hour premiere of 90210 last night?!? (which drew in loads of viewers like expected) of course i had to tune in...seeing the return of shannen doherty as 'brenda walsh' was something i simply couldn't pass up! (jennie garth is sweet but not a big reason to tune in - her character 'kelly taylor' was a total bore years ago too...)

overall the show was decent - i wouldn't say i was blown away by any means (it's certainly nowhere near as delicious as gossip girl) but it wasn't the worse thing ever - i'll most likely tune in again next week! i don't think it'll ever be as popular as the original show but i do love the fact the tabloids are already claiming ms. doherty is 'terrorizing' the new set - all of her real-life behind the scenes drama the first time around for sure added fuel to the popularity fire - maybe she'll be able to do it again! popbytes over & out for now...xxoo

JAMIE LYNN REMINDS ME OF BRISTOL PALIN...

(...except her mom lynne spears isn't running for vice president) oh good morning everyone (i'm taking a deep breath right about now...) although the latest STAR magazine cover is featuring baby daddy drama for new teenage mom jamie lynn spears and her daughter maddie briann (read about that messy situation here) i simply can't get that whole ridiculous palin family scene out of my head (what bombshell is going to be dropped next?!?) i'm not a political person at all (like i've said many times before here on popbytes and i'll probably take some flack for this post yet this is my blog and i'll say what i want to say...)

seriously - enough is enough - if the republican party's best choice for a vice president is some backwoods ultra conservative beyotch like sarah palin - then it's a sad state of affairs for republicans everywhere (even though i'm not a republican - a far smarter choice (IMHO) would have been somebody more neutral like joe lieberman...) not only is ms. palin unqualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency (hello...she was the mayor of a town consisting of like 9,000 people) she's already brought enough drama to the national table to start a soap opera named 99501 (the good ol' zipcode of anchorage alaska) i swear if john mccain and lady sarah palin end up somehow winning this upcoming election - i'll be packing my bags and leaving the country (and if anybody thinks bristol palin's marriage to self-proclaimed 'fuckin' redneck' levi johnston is going to last...then go on and think again)

sarah palin is a total fucking joke and i can't stand her or what she stands for (it's time for all this god-fearing conservatism to come to an end...it's one thing to be moral and another to be on some high ass horse) i've never been so fired up about someone (mr. mccain never got my blood boiling like she does...) if any woman out there who supported hillary clinton is thinking about voting for ms. palin just because she's of the female persuasion - then i proclaim that person a dumbass - ms. clinton & ms. palin may share in the fact they both have vaginas but that's about all they share!

i'm a staunch supporter of womens rights (just ask my mom) but ms. palin is a completely unnecessary step backwards and will be a world-wide embarrassment to this country if she's elected vice president of the united states! phew...ok...now that i've got that off my chest (look at me all fired up so early in the morning!) i will NOT be mentioning this issue again until november 4th when this country hopefully elects barack obama to lead us towards change...not fear and more of the same bush politics! popbytes over & out for now...xxoo (many thanks to my friends at STAR for helping me to get my rant on!)
