oh my gosh - today is duffy's big day here in the states - her incredible debut album rockferry is officially on sale here in the US! (just last week i picked up a vinyl copy of the album - although i don't have a record player - i'm addicted to collecting vinyl - especially 45s) i first posted about the welsh soul singer back at the end of january upon discovery of her kick-ass single mercy - and it has been popping up in all sorts of places (the hills, women's murder club) duffy was celebrating her stateside release today at the times square virgin megastore where she signed copies of her album and also performed! i can't wait until she finally does her first los angeles show - i'd like to vote for the roxy to be her first LA venue - hands down the best small venue in town! popbytes over & out for tonight - long live duffy - xxoo

Rock Ferry
Nicholas Blundell of Little Crosby to the north of Liverpool mentions Rock House ferry in his diary of 1709. The pier and landing stage at Rock Ferry was built in 1899 and in the same year Birkenhead Corporation operated the ferry service at Rock Ferry and New Ferry. The ferry service at Rock Ferry closed in 1939.

Both the Apollo appearance, and instore were wonderful. Even when her manager type guy kept trying to rush people through the line, she took the extra time to talk with her fans. I am looking into this, but was told that up until the age of 16, she only spoke Welsh. If true, how impressive is that!
