ms. britney spears was caught being good again (when i was in elementary school they had this dumb award given out to kids 'caught being good' - it never quite lived up to the hype the teachers gave it) instead of making drama (or denting fenders) brit was back (along w/ a big ass bronze bag) at a recording studio tonight (specifically glenwood place studios over in burbank) she's probably just messing around and getting used to being back in 'the zone'...she's also been at the gym recently and supposedly bally total fitness wants to hire her as their spokesperson although i think it might be a little soon for that - it wasn't all that long ago that she was a total mess and she still doesn't seem 100% (her hair/weave needs major help) but ms. spears has certainly come a long way! (yet nobody should be depending on her at the moment except for money)

†FROM DJ PAUL V. One of my favorite records from 2007 was 'I Created Disco' from the UK's Calvin Harris. The dude is only like 24 years old, and while he didn't create disco, he's already producing big names like Kylie Minogue and remixing hipsters like The Ting Tings and CSS. His Acceptable In The 80's jam is just about the bounciest slice of electropop fun you'll hear, and since I had three tracks that mashed it up, I decided to combo them up into my own megamix. It features a solo Kelly Rowland plus Destiny's Child, and some British dude named Marvin The Martian, who did his own freestyle over the track (which caught some buzz on the UK charts). Calvin plays in Los Angeles next week and at Coachella on April 26th.
i'm sure some of you must get sick of courtney love but i never grow tired of her - i could post on her everyday if i had to! good evening y'all! below is the latest cover of national enquirer featuring an entire article on hollywood's deadliest diets - which can often have dire consequences like heart attacks, kidney failure, diabetes, and strokes - not good times! thankfully i've never had to go on a diet (in fact people always tell me to eat up but i like being skinny and i've always been this way - so whatever) but i can imagine losing weight can be a difficult thing to deal with - i'm not overly educated on all the ins & outs of dieting but it seems to me that a good diet consists of eating properly with the right foods and small portions, plus exercise! hey hey! new mom jennifer lopez took a little alone time tonight with her hubby marc anthony at NYC's waverly inn (while the babies were under lockdown with fort knox security) for just having twins like nine weeks ago (february 22nd) she looks quite refreshed & relaxed and it appears she lost most of her baby weight! yet i'm not crazy about that color on her - it makes her look older and a tad boring (although i'm not a huge fan of his - he doesn't look too bad actually - mr. anthony should always keep those sunglasses on...) over the weekend i tried to watch el cantante but i just couldn't make it through the whole thing - once i take a break from watching a movie - 99% of the time i don't finish it - there's simply too much other stuff to watch to start back pedaling! now that ms. lopez has the baby thing under her belt i'm curious to see what her next move will be - probably not another movie with marc! (maybe she'll get back to promoting her latest album brave which i still stand by as a totally solid pop album!) popbytes over & out for tonight - xxoo!
some things never change - which can sometimes be a good thing - case in point tonight is björk - the oddball icelandic singer - who is still bizarre yet brilliant & original as always! (the pictures below are from a show this evening at london's hammersmith apollo - i just adore the colorful furry mini-pommed hat along with her dress that looks part aluminum foil) i have such deep respect for her - she always blows me away with her genius & crafty musical ways - i know she's not everyone's cup of tea and i can't listen to her all of the time (i doubt anyone could) but she never fails at bringing something fresh and oh so kooky to the table - no one can argue with that! the mold was smashed into a thousand pieces when she was made - i can't even think of who i would compare her to - björk (along w/ her fashion) is in a league all her own! i've mentioned a couple of times on here before that you must see dancer in the dark if you haven't already - her golden globe nominated performance is simply incredible - overall the story is a bit of a downer but it's an excellent film! as for future projects she'll be releasing 'volta revisted' (2CD live/remixes + 1 DVD) sometime this spring! gosh it certainly has been a music filled day here on popbytes with mariah, dolly, and now björk! i'm over & out for now...xxoo! good morning! over the weekend i spent a lot of time listening to mariah carey's new album E=MC2 which hits stores tomorrow and i've become completely obsessed with this one track called i'm that chick - i'm convinced mariah needs to release the song as her third single (her 2nd one bye bye (a really nice ballad) is just starting to make the rounds now) although technically this is my 'monday .mp3' column - i only have a live performance of the track to share with you but i love the song so much i had to post it here in some manner this morning! plus the fact she's doing the track live possibly means it could be a single - it will totally be another #1 hit for ms. carey! besides the song below - the rest of the album is pretty solid - i don't know if she'll gain new followers with the album but fans of mariah (like myself) should be super happy with her latest outing! popbytes over & out for now...xxoo!
hey kids! it has been so damn hot here all weekend long - i had to run the air conditioner at home and in the car (which is a rental at the moment - my car's transmission is being rebuilt - oh good times!) just when i bitch about the weather being too cold - then it gets all too hot - i'm one of those people who usually complains one way or another! luckily for wedding addict pamela anderson - she was able to lay out on the deck of her malibu beach house - passing the weekend time 'expanding her mind' with a book that examines 'the corrosive effects of corporate infiltration of the underground' called unmarketable by anne elizabeth moore - perhaps ms. anderson is looking for a way (other than her boobs) to stand out with her upcoming reality show on E! that promises to be an 'artistically rich and visually stunning series' (her kids won't be featured - that's denise richard's reality turf) she's gotta find some kind of hook and/or edge since reality shows are ten cents a dozen as we all know! (it's already being spun as a docu-style series and is tentatively titled pamela) although there's no need to hook me - i'll be tuning in no matter what! when it comes to television most of my pop culture integrity has already been eroded...sadly it will completely vanish once i find myself watching living lohan against my better judgment - i just know it will be the ultimate guilty pleasure train wreck of the summer! popbytes over & out for tonight - tomorrow it's back to the grind - ugh!
oh my goodness - something about this story is totally hysterical to me - i can't stop laughing about it! apparently amy winehouse has a brand new addiction - ironing! a source told showbiz spy that she has been ironing everything in sight! gosh i can just see her in my mind with her big ass beehive weave ironing like a total mad woman - that must be some sight! (take a look at the size of her hair below - it's ginmorous!) i've never been one to iron anything (wrinkles shminkles) but i guess if her new found obsessive compulsive domestic activity keeps her busy - then i say iron on girlfriend! (although sadly there's a new story about her doing a bunch of blow at a party plus she's delaying work on her third album - major bummer!) to top off amy's woes - she was just disinvited from an upcoming charity event in NYC (metropolitan museum of art's annual costume institute gala on may 5th) where ms. winehouse was going to perform! it sounds and looks like another stint in rehab is desperately needed - hopefully a longer stay than her first attempt! popbytes over & out for now...xxoo!
