hey hey! i wanted to bring your attention to the new trailer for sweeney todd - the upcoming film adaptation of stephen sondheim's tony award-winning musical (it won nine tony awards back in 1979) directed by the incredible tim burton and starring one of his favorite actors johnny depp as 'the demon barber of fleet street'! (and mr. burton's partner helena bonham carter) the film opens on december 21st - i'm very curious to see how this dark tale of a london barber gone mad is handled (he kills people - then their meat is baked into pies!) it's certainly not for kids although i feel like it will be marketed as a family film (a lot is riding on what rating the film will get...) i will certainly be seeing it on opening night - sweeney todd has been one of my top musicals for quite a long time - sondheim's music & lyrics are totally brilliant & haunting - the show is almost entirely sung with a very opera feel to it yet also has some great classic songs like pretty women and not while i'm around which you may have heard before? anyways as you can tell i'm pretty stoked for this movie - i'll be posting much more about it as the release date draws closer! today i got a bunch of stuff done around the apartment - and tomorrow i'm looking forward to going to see underworld & paul oakenfold play at the hollywood bowl - i'm so going to dance my ass off! (i guess i will have to tivo MTV's vma awards...oh well) popbytes over & out for tonight...xxoo!

That's clearly a fan trailer. Notice the clips of Sleepy Hollow and From Hell, among many others. We'll know it when a real teaser is released.

That is not the trailer. The recordings are other versions of Sweeney Todd and the clips come from other movies. The opening mountains are from Harry Potter. They haven't released a trailer yet.
