oh my goodness – what was she thinking?!? i’ve now watched britney spears‘ opening performance of MTV’s video music awards twice and i still come to the very same conclusion – it was horrible! (witness it for yourself below) i’ve already said that i love her new single gimme more but tonight in las vegas – she seemed out of place – her lip syncing was terrible – it felt like ms. spears forgot she was supposed to be ‘singing’ – she was wandering around that stage in a trance without any purpose or conviction! (btw what happened to criss angel wasn’t he supposed to be doing something with her?!?)



the whole performance just fell flat for me – i haven’t read what anybody else thought but i’d imagine that most people were seriously disappointed like myself! oh lordy – i quickly ran through the whole show and i have to say it certainly wasn’t one of MTV’s better ceremonies (and amy winehouse losing out to gym class heroes for best new artist is so fucking lame – give me a break) i think the best performances were provided by chris brown & rihanna – she came out looking fierce and commanded the stage while britney looked lost – girlfriend needs some more rehearsal time before she attempts another performance – plus i was also bugged out by her blue contacts – way fake looking and not flattering on her at all! before i lay it down for the evening i’ve also got to mention sarah silverman who totally rocked – damn she’s so funny – i totally love her – she can do no wrong! anyways i’m way beat after seeing underworld tonight – i’ll write about that more tomorrow evening! popbytes over & out for tonight…xxoo!


PS i agree with justin timberlake – MTV should play more videos than dumbass shows…

    I just watched the clip… it wasn’t quite as horrible as everybody’s been making it out to be.. though of course it wasn’t fabulous. The other dancers really showed that she’s not up to par at ALL. It’s sad. She still has some variety of stage charisma.. she showed it in little tiny pieces.
    But we need to see… well, more..

    Gosh, I had SUCH high hopes for this performance!! I kind of felt like this performance could be her saving grace from all the bad media attention she’s been getting, but unfortunately that will not be the case for Ms. Spears. I thought there was no way it could go wrong…I mean, it’s a good song and she’s made her name in being a performer…what happened?? The outfit? The lethargic moves?? The off-track lipsynching???
    I’m hoping we can just chalk up that bad performance to nerves and give her another chance. No matter how disappointing it was, i’d rather see her turn it around than become a train wreck.

    Why is everyone trying to be so kind; I ‘ve seen high school talent shows with better performance than Britney. She was terrible at best. She seemed out of it like she was loaded…I mean she walked around like she was lost…those were not dance steps. Her outfit showed she has become allergic to the exercise room. When you can’t even lip sunc you need to hang it up Britney and move back into your trailer.

    I was very disappointed with her performance. Just from the first shot when you see a close up of her badly done extension to the outfit making her look like she had no waist. I think she knew she sucked because by the end when she mumbled “thank you” to the camera, you could see the shame in her face. Must have been hard to be her last night being that she had one of the VMA’s most remembered performances.
