I am soo sad! She deserves to win. Jordin does too but she still has ages to go on and do amazing things since she's only 17. Melinda needs it now. Now we jsut have to make sure to continue to support her to get signed and hopefully will be able to make an album. We love you Melinda!

I feel awful, esp about this seasons American idol. First Sanjaya was voted for longer than he actually deserved to be on idol, and now Menlinda who was undoubtedly the best is voted off. It just makes me wonder if American idol is all about talent. At this point I say Bye to American idol show this year, cause I really don't care who wins.Jordin is good, but still can't measure up to Melinda. Good luck to you Melinda,You deserved to win.

Many of us from Canada are so angry at the people of America, because Melinda is the American Idol in our hearts. We will not have our TV on American idol no longer. Melinda get ready cause we're buying you out my dear. Your No. 1 in our books in 2007. You Go Girl. You are the woman!!! You was so consistent and so brilliant. What goes around comes around!! Goodbye Jordan and Blake! Sorry!!!

America has no taste. Will never watch again. Doolittle was clearly the BES singer and superbly outsang all every week.

So sad to see Melinda booted, but I am sure her future in the music industry is bright!!! Last night's results just go to show that America is more in love with "image and appearance" than real talent.

Clearly, popularity among the teens has one out and not talent. Let me be clear, Jordan, I predicted you to be in the finale from the start but please, Melinda Doolittle is at the top of her game and has been since the beginning of the competition. Oh well, not the next American Idol but most definately, I see much success in your future, title or not... I've enjoyed listening to you and will definately buy the album, the minute it comes out.

Much luck to the finalists, this is the first season I watched from start to finish, can't say that it was not entertaining..

I'm a Canadian fan of AI (or at least, I was until last night). Melinda's elimination doesn't lend much credibility to the voting. I can't imagine how someone with the best voice to come out of the show in years - not to mention the verstility to use it well - could be ousted from the finale. I definitely have no interest in watching it next week, and will be cautious about following the next season if it's anything like this one. Melinda, you have a horde of fans here in Canada and we'll be waiting for your CD!

Melinda Doolittle, as you can see you are not an American Idol but my dear girl you ARE UNIVERSAL IDOL !!! I am not interested in who wins next week cos there is no Melinda Doolittle to watch. AI better change their voting system or their rating goes ....such shocking shocking elimination but Melinda will never be eliminated cos you are UNIVERAL IDOL

Maybe if AI would have aired Sir-Mix-Alot Bowing to her on a Voting night, like Blake, she may have stayed. The producers of AI are so transparent in their efforts that they have been pushing Jordin and Blake for weeks. Jordin always had more solos when they sang with the group and Blake had 4 performances on Tuesday night.

It's hard to blame voters when they are given as many opportunities to vote as they want. We all know that certain age groups are going to vote differently than others, meaning some 100 times to others 1 time.

Last years was the start of the downslide for AI with Hicks winning. Yet we all know it doesn't matter who wins, but the show certainly isn't delivering true Idols as winners any longer. I believe they had it right from Clarkston up through Underwood. The ratings are down for a reason.

Oh come on Canada. This is a show for pop music, not soul. Remember Fantasia? Do you really think anyone needed another lady soul singer to win? Who would buy the album? The idea is to create a pop star. Melinda is no pop star.

I love, love , love Melinda Doolittle, by far the best singer this season American Idol. So sorry she did not win.

I hope she gets a record contract and I can buy her records. A soul album or Christian album would be welcome!!!

Blake got four performances on Tuesday? I must have fallen asleep during that.

Melinda was a TERRIFIC singer, but she as a little on the boring side. And she is not a contemporary artist. She needed to show a little more spunk to stick it out.

She'll be around forever anyhow. Not winning could be the best thing for her.

i've watched american idol from the very beginning. Im amazed that in 1st season Tamara was voted off. Jennifer H was told she couldnt sing! There were others also...those ladies had talent and good singing skills. The judges consistently talk about having skill and talent Out of all the seasons Melinda has been the BEST! I wish Ms Doolittle the very best and i'm looking forward to your first project. As of the elimination date, i wlll no longer look at american idol. Jordin is an okay singer and maybe she will get better in time....Blake ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no way...Melinda you deserve the best... May Heaven shine on you!

Melinda has the best singing voice that has ever appeared on Idol. When I listen to her sing you can tell that every other contestant would have to spend the rest of their lives to even be half that good. As a record producer myself, I was wondering how she would be "packaged" to further her career. As we all know, the recording industry is trying to create superstars because that sells records to the kids mostly, but I can't wait to sit down with a glass of Chardonnay and thoroughly enjoy Melinda's debut album. She will be a mainstay long after Jordin, & Blake get flashed in the pan.
