I would really like to know when Nelly claimed to be LATINO because she is very proud of her GYPSY CULTURE AND PORTUGUESE BACKGROUND and i have never heard her claim to be LATINO. Portuguese people tend to claim that they are white not latino IF they are from Portugal. If they were born in Canada or in America that could be a different story due to the fact that they have to choose to fit in a racial catagory: caucasian, asian, latino, african american or other. Most Portuguese people i know have fair skin and dark hair and could easily pass for white or can be considered mixed with white and latino.

I agree, I think Nelly is feeling guilty. I don't think Fergie meant anything by that at all. Both are talented but I have to say, Nellys voice is very very annoying. She was falling off until Timbaland and Timberlake had to come and save her ass and they are the ones who keep her songs hits.
