hey hey! i hope y'all are having a lovely weekend...mine could be a drop better but what can you do? at least the weather is quite nice here - i can't complain all that much! i'm supposed to head to a little shindig tonight with a couple of peeps - so i'm hoping that lifts my spirits! i did get a big laugh though after watching the clip below from the new mostly improvised show over on comedy central called halfway home (premiering wednesday march 14th at 1030pm) right now i'm trying to catch up on some stuff i need to watch - i'm behind on a bunch of shows! popbytes over & out for now - check you all later - xxoo!




the cast features kevin ruf ("fun with dick and jane," groundlings member), the house supervisor who attempts to rehabilitate the misfit parolees including oscar nunez ("the office," "reno 911!"), a male prostitute who uses sex to get what he desires; jordan black ("punk'd," "mad tv"), a wanna-be terrorist who is really just a rich kid from california; regan burns ("oblivious," "the movie club") the house narc who has an uncontrollable obsession with fire; jessica makinson ("joe schmo 2," "trigger happy tv"), a drug trafficker who can't give up her old habits and octavia spencer ("coach carter," "spiderman"), an armed robbery convict.

the volatile mix of personalities together with the mandatory 24/7 supervision creates the perfect setting for unpredictable comedic mayhem. in the premiere episode, one of the residents smells something suspicious in the middle of the night and kenny, the house supervisor, forces the parolees to take drug tests with hilarious results. future episodes feature the parolees attempting self-reliance training during an excursion in the wilderness, the men of "halfway home" going through a period of erectile dysfunction and the residents being asked to '"scare straight" a mammoth-sized juvenile delinquent.

good morning boys & girls! here's avril lavigne who landed the cover of the latest issue of UK's arena magazine in hopes of promoting her new album the best damn thing which lands in stores on april 17th! the first single is called girlfriend and the video is posted below - it's a totally annoying song...if the rest of her album sounds like that she's in big trouble! i was never a huge fan yet i didn't mind her but then she lost major points over her super lame spitting incident! she just seems like a spoiled brat to me - anyone else care to chime in on what they think of ms. lavigne? popbytes over & out for now...xxoo!

hey hey! so i know i already posted about the upcoming 9th studio release (due in just two months on may 1st) from my darling tori amos entitled american doll posse but i'm so fucking excited i could wet myself (i'll manage to keep things together...no worries!) but i'm a little pissed off that some people have been putting down her most recent albums the beekeeper & scarlet's walk...both are incredibly brilliant albums! to be perfectly honest being a diehard ms. amos fan - i don't even think i could name one song i don't care for by her!

oh sure there are tracks that i like better than others but i've never ever been disappointed by tori! i literally cannot wait to hear what she has whipped up this time...by the looks of the imagery below the album feels like it could be an incredible dark cross between boys for pele & from the choirgirl hotel (my personal favorite...although i love them all) right now i'm on tori alert big time - if anyone else has any new info on the album - please let me know! popbytes over & out for tonight...xxoo!

good evening! we're almost done with this week and today we found ourselves in the midst of a brand new month! february was filled with a few ups & plenty of downs...but moving on below is the lovely gwyneth paltrow from the pages of vogue - the spain march '07 edition! we'll probably be seeing her soon in the film the good night (the poster below has peaked my interest) which was directed by her brother jake paltrow and also stars penelope cruz, martin freeman and danny devito!

good evening my pop friends! ok if i have to watch one more thing about anna nicole smith i think i may pass out! i don't trust anyone involved in the situation and oh my gosh i still keep finding myself shocked that she actually died - no more anna - it's so fucking sad & eerie! i know some people think i'm crazy but i really loved her so much - what a tragic figure! (you know i live for the messy ones) she was never really happy and the one thing that did seem to make her happy was taken away from her - man oh man - i can't bear it! hey kids! i seriously hope everyone has been keeping up with the 4th season of the L word over on showtime! i had never watched the series until this year but once i started watching it and got into the groove of the kick-ass characters (the cast totally rocks) i was totally hooked! (plus i ended up subscribing to showtime) one day i'm going to sit down and plow through the first three seasons on DVD! also make sure to check out the show's website - there's a ton of cool content!

good morning! does anyone else out there like carmen electra? for some reason i totally love her and the wacky things she does (remember ms. electra has her very own mastercard) and this week's STAR magazine uncovers carmen's latest career move...working hard for the money in las vegas as a magician's assistant! AFTER THE OSCARS - ELLEN TIDBITS!

hey hey! oh that ellen degeneres doesn't miss a beat - she's back this week taping her show and guess who stopped by...yes it's john travolta promoting his new flick wild hogs which actually premiered on hollywood blvd tonight at the el capitan theater (finally the blvd was unblocked this morning after all the oscar street closures and then a few hours later one side was shut down again for the film premiere - not good traffic times!) i have mixed feelings on mr. travolta (his ellen appearance airs tomorrow - wednesday the 28th) i could take him or leave him but i'll say that film looks oh so terrible - totally not my kind of movie!

hey everybody! i'm watching the guys perform on american idol - nothing too great yet - the girls will be more entertaining tomorrow evening! so this week it looks like anna nicole smith & britney spears have been put back in the corner by STAR magazine which hopped right back on the brangelina express! although the two other stories at the moment are icky (i'm still so sad about anna) and totally not fun it was actually nice to have a lull from brad pitt & angelina jolie (britney did have herself a good gossip run but now i just want to see her get better although there's one small thing i can't get out of my mind...her umbrella of destruction - just by saying it out loud i crack myself up!)

things were fairly quiet on jolie-pitt front and then boom...they don't show up for the oscars and it's like a 'scandal' and now there's rumors of some secret love note mr. pitt penned to his ex jennifer aniston! the whole situation is beyond tired at this point - yes i'll agree ms. jolie painted as a vixen is a great 'character' (she for sure brings out emotions in people - she would have rocked on 'dynasty' back in the day) and ms. aniston is perfect as the 'best friend who is never happy' character - their drama was juicy and interesting for a while but i think this is one gossip novella that needs to take a bow! hey kiddies! here's some info about a brand new scripted show starting march 19th over on court tv which i'll admit that i've never watched before but that's about to change...'til death do us part is a kooky anthology series (think 'twilight zone' & 'night gallery') about wedded bliss couples who end up knocking off one of their spouses! the best part about all of this though is the host...john waters who introduces the murderous tale at hand & then wraps up all the good times at the end! i'm a huge fan of mr. waters and all his movies...i'm thrilled they got him to appear as the groom reaper

yikes - another fashion scare! it's jessica biel in that tacky purple/fuschia/pink number - that color doesn't work on the red carpet! cameron diaz looks cute in white - the top of the dress is better than the bottom - oh there's the winner for best actress helen mirren (oh she's totally going to win) who always looks classy! ryan's with jodie foster wearing vera wang (i wonder if ms. foster also has one of those wang mattresses - ha!) everything is coming fast & furious now...the smith family looks great as usual! oh marc anthony take your creepy paws off penelope cruz! (i'm not crazy about that skin color dress) also wearing wang is rachel weisz who maybe should've picked a lighter lipstick - the color is too dark!

Especially, he deserves this ward after the role of Danny Archer in such as great movie with global question which human should thinking about as the Blood Diamond.

i loved simon cowell's message to jennifer hudson - i still can't stand that jacket! what do we think of leonardo dicaprio's slicked back hair? i don't know how i feel about it! over on TV GUIDE i think both joan & melissa are total messes - joan's red fur thing is terrible & melissa has too much jewelry on especially with her over the top dress! the whole look is way too 'dark' for her...and kelly preston should've left her leopard print at home!

also leonardo dicaprio looks too tan - he's got a slight orange glow to him...now helen mirren is chatting with mr. seacrest - i don't think they needed to hand her a british flag - props are not needed on the red carpet! she was a good sport about it! oh my there's celine dion in green i almost forgot she existed - she's been laying so low recently! we have also got to mention sally kirkland who always goes dramatic at the oscars - she's a wild lady!

ah ryan nabbed celine dion - she's totally one of my guilty pleasures - i feel the need to go dig out my 'titanic' soundtrack right now (no i'm not drinking...yet) oh ms. dion is already gone and now we've got anne hathaway who looks cute (actually i take that back - i hate her dress) someone who doesn't look cute is kirsten dunst...oh look it's beyonce who looks super HOT! oh i love what she's wearing - perfect color and the straight hair is awesome! ah i just got an email from my dear mom who is now following along and agrees with me about most everything except she liked jennifer lopez! i don't think i'll ever get over that green gucci number she rocked on the red carpet a few years back - she set the bar awfully high that year!

paltrow is with seacrest - i thought i saw her earlier but i was wrong - i don't care for her salmon/flesh colored dress at all! it kinda goes with the color that penelope cruz is also wearing...ok maybe beyonce can leave off that thing across her shoulder but i really live the very light green color - she's just gorgeous to begin with! yikes - nicole kidman - not cute - in bright red with some bowtie over her shoulder? someone needs to show up with a pair of scissors and cut all this shoulder crap off! kate winslet looks nice & elegant but again she's got shoulder fabric as well! queen latifah looks great - she's one of my favorite people - oh i'm starting to get hungry and i need to walk the dogs soon but so far so good - right?

eddie murphy is totally going to win for best supporting actor tonight and he should - he was excellent in 'dreamgirls' - totally the role of a lifetime and that's what it all really comes down to - getting that role that you're just meant for! ryan is now with kate winslet who has a bunch of nominations under her belt - oh i almost forgot to mention cate blanchett who looks ok - i'm not thrilled with her dress - there hasn't been one big stand out best dressed person yet - i'm sure i missed some people but no one has totally floored me (i do really like beyonce though)

reese witherspoon looks great! i think she wins for best hair - it looks great down and straight - and the deep blue/purple color is great on her! (plus her shoulders are bare!) oh there's meryl streep who is a size 14 with 14 nominations - ha! she's always been a terrible dresser and tonight is no exception - speaking of no exceptions where's that diane keaton?!?

(i had to take a quick fashion break - hence the picture of reese witherspoon above!) here we've got randy newman & james taylor performing the first nominated song of evening...'our town' from cars which is a totally adorable movie if you haven't seen it! and now my darling melissa etheridge is up singing her song 'i need to wake up' from the al gore documentary 'an incoveinent truth' - she has always been one of my favorites - i admit i haven't seen the film yet - i know i should but i get all freaked out and the last thing i need is something else to worry about! (but i will see it)

i loved that whole bit with ellen and clint eastwood when she got steven spielberg to take a picture of them together for 'myspace' - and now gwyneth paltrow is up at bat tossing out the next award (where was her hubby chris martin tonight - there's a few rumors running around that all is not so happy with them - we'll need to keep our eyes on that situation)

oh my gosh i love legend catherine deneuve who is presenting with ken watanabe something to do with foreign films...that's a great bunch of clips they tossed together! now we've got cate blanchett & my hottie clive owen are presenting the award for best foreign film - i'm very surprised 'pan's labyrinth' didn't win - another upset!

it's george clooney time - woo hoo! and thank heavens jennifer hudson won!!! i knew it (we all knew it) she so deserves it - she kicked ass in that movie! and gosh what a real-life story that gal has - i still think back on her days on 'idol' - it proves you really can do anything you set your mind to - i can't wait to see what ms. hudson does next!!!

oh yes the oscars are all over! thanks for sticking around! oh my word i've been blogging since 3pm and i'm totally done & over it! i'm most thankful tonight for jennifer hudson walking off with her much deserved oscar! kudos also go to reese witherspoon who was utter perfection tonight!

right now i'm going to settle into the barbara walters special right now - then there's a special night of jimmy kimmel where ms. degeneres will be dropping by to dissect the night plus my gal gwen stefani will be providing the music! popbytes over & out for tonight - i'll check you all tomorrow - xxoo!
