UPDATE oh my gosh i'm so sorry! in my dazed haste this morning i accidently thought ms. mcphee's new album was called 'a gift for you' - which i thought was a terrible title...thankfully i was wrong and her debut album is actually self-titled! many thanks to my dear readers who quickly clued me in!

hello hello hello! oh that idol gal katharine mcphee is about to release her debut album (badly titled 'a gift for you' - what did she get us? her box in a box?) at the end of the month (jan 30th) the first single called over it (streaming below) is starting to make the rounds...i wasn't a crazed kat fan by any means but she's a decent singer and i'll say she is strikingly beautiful...there's no question about that! the single is OK yet i think it could turn into a small guilty pleasure (dance remixes could be hot) but it does give some hope for a shot at a decent career - i couldn't stand kelly clarkson but now a few years later and i do adore ms. clarkson so we'll see what happens with ms. mcphee - listen to a stream of her single (sorry this week it's not a .mp3) popbytes over & out for now...xxoo!

KATHARINE MCPHEE IS SO 'OVER IT'

Not bad at all , a very good first song of what im sure is many more to come of a very long and successful career for a true beauty and amazing singer. She has definitely done justice to a show that has found few gems for all that have tried to make something out of it

The final three should have been Taylor, Chris and Elliot. It's really a shame. Oh, well I welcome the new season of American Idol so we can move on from Ms.McPhee. I think she's destined for movies or modelling, but she cannot compete with singers out there today.

Katharine's album is NOT called "A Gift For You." I think you are confused because she wrote "Katharine's Christmas gift to you" on her website when she posted her recording of "O Come All Ye Faithful" for fans to download for free. Her album is actually self-titled.

Her debut album is self-titled, not titled "A Gift for You." That was the title of her free Christmas song off her website. Just letting you know. :)

Wow! I knew she was beautiful but these pictures take my breath away. I like the single too, surprsingly more modern than I thought her style would be. Oh Lucy - get over it! You should be proud that a beautiful and strong willed girl with a beautiful voice held her own against 3 older men. Where is the old solidarity of the sisterhood? We will see who still has a musical career a year from now, three years from now, five years from now. My money is on Katharine to have the most successfull musical career. And she will be a great movie star as a sideline. Sorry but I don't see anything special in Taylor or Chris or Elliot, they won't last.
