dear rosie o’donnell,


i think you need to shut the fuck up! poor kelly ripa was terrorized when josie grossie (who doesn’t love ‘never been kissed’?) clay aiken placed his dirty hand over her mouth while filling in for regis philbin this past friday! kelly’s comment about ‘not knowing where that hand has been’ wasn’t homophobic at all – and how can she be all queer bashing when we still don’t even know ‘officially’ know what clay’s sexuality is? (and do we really care – i don’t think either team wants to claim him) gay – straight – bisexual – whatever floats the aiken boat…i don’t think any man, woman, or child (or my two dogs for that matter) would want his grimy little paws covering their mouths – plain as day it was rude & unhygienic on clay’s part! the whole thing has been blown way out of proportion – ‘LARGELY’ in part to you! as a gay man – i find your comments to be dumb & stupid – and i think you should really lay off ms. ripa and stick to issues that really matter and use your gay ammunition wisely – berating ms. ripa won’t help the cause! ok enough said…just calm yourself down!

PS phew! oh i just had to get that off as my chest – just because i’m gay doesn’t mean i agree with the all the loud mouths and ‘outing’ hunts at the moment! i hope i didn’t scare anyone – i just veered from my normal pop ‘cheeriness’ but i found it a bit refreshing to get my nasty on!

    i think Rosie overdid it but i’m still glad she did it. I don’t agree but… i’m just glad she forces the issue, because nobody else does.
    we need more celebs like Rosie. Because the more blasé it gets to hear constantly about these issues, the more acclimated people get. It’ll turn off some people true but others will go: gee, i never thought about it that way. etc…
    Plus i love watching the other ladies on The View get so uncomfortable. LOL.

    Just to clear up one small point. If someone doesn’t agree with you that doesn’t make them homophobic. In truth, what is there to fear? In my opinion, while you DO have the right to do as you please, what you do is aberrant, meaning NOT the norm, and most folks find it so if they be truthful. The snickers you hear from straight folks when you leave a room at a party? They are jokes about your breath smelling like fish.
    So, did you like that? No, it wasn’t nice, but it is no more wrong then you picking on what someone else does. kelly Ripa is an irritating little munchkin, but given a choice between saving her or you from a fire? I’d grab her hand because she is not forever whining trying to get people to accept the unacceptable, and then labeling them as bad if they don’t.
    Rosie, love, face it. No matter how many people you attack for not sharing your views, here’s the bottom line truth. You ARE a freak, you know it, and THAT is why you are so angry.
    Now you can say you are at peace, but you are fooling no one. With all you have, and all still to come your way, you will NEVER be happy. Reason? You know what you are, we know what you are, and neither of those things will ever change.

    Whether Rose pushed it to far, isn’t the issue, the issue is Kelly Ripa’s snotty attitude. Given, Clay should never had put his hands on Kelly in the first place, but she should NEVER have said what she said to Clay in front of a live audience. The professional thing to do would been to tell him off stage. You just don’t embarrasse someone on LIVE TV with MILLIONS of people watching. That’s just low for Kelly. I tolerated her before, but no more. She doesn’t have to be rude to guest hosts no matter what they do. She totally lost my respect! Rose was right, if it was a hot guy like Mario Lopez or Nick Lachey, you better believe she’d allow. She wouldn’t have said a damn thing!

    I completely agree with Popbytes. I don’t think Ms. Ripa was being homophobic. I have said that to many people and never once did sexuality occur to me. It’s more, like, did you wash your hands after using the bathroom sort of thing. Ms. Rosie is a hoot, but she also likes to stir the pot, so to speak. Kelly is adorable, and should have never been treated this way.

    This angered me a lot when i saw it. For one, just because she doesn’t want some strange man’s hand on her mouth, doesn’t mean she didn’t want it there because he’s gay. Personally, men use the restroom and hold their penis…if they don’t wash their hands…ewwww. It has nothing to do with who he’s had sex with…it has to do with what he’s been doing with his hands that day…he could have picked his nose or scratched his ass, or used the bathroom and not wash his hands…and i certainly wouldn’t want all that bacteria and germs on my face.
    It really ticks me off when people pull the ‘sexual or racial’ly motivated things when it has nothing to do with sexual or racial issues. People need to lighten up and try not to see everything as a prejudice against your sexuality or race. Clay invaded her personal space and kelly reacted pretty fairly to it.

    I have said exactly what Kelly Ripa said and it has nothing to do with sexual orientantion…many of us have said the same thing. Someone earlier said it was unprofessional…c’mon, she didn’t like it, even the chick from “Dancing with the Stars” said that it was a no-no and instead of showing her anger, she made a playful yet firm comment that the audience responded to by laughing instead of being shocked. Rosie jumped the gun, she should have spoken to Ripa first before airing it out for all to see. Are we being that PC now a days? I believe what Ripa said in response to be the truth. Hope Rosie gets over it.

    Kelly Ripa is nuts. She went overboard about a JOKE Clay made. Emmitt Smith even said in a radio interview that Kelly was rude to Clay, and Clay was just joking. Kelly was angry that Clay cohosted because she wanted her husband to do it. And wether Clay himself is gay doesn’t matter, Kelly thinks he is (she has portrayed that in the past) and so I think her comment was very homophobis. Esp. since there are pics all over the net showing her hand over Regis mouth, and Simon Cowell with his hand over Kellys mouth. I love me some Clay Aiken, but am so tired of the crap he gets from people. It gets old. Quick. And while Mrs. Ripa was out in the Hamptons last weekend, Clay, as UNICEF emb. was in New York for the Unicef snowflake lighting. Now THAT is a real man, wether gay or straight….

    When I first heard the comment, it DID seem sort of like she was saying: “Eeew don’t touch me (especially with your gay hand)” But I really doubt Kelly has some problem with the gays. But I agree it did sound like one of those moments where someone reveals something a little hidden. On the other hand, Clay seems like a real ass IMO.

    I would really like to know what Kelly said exactly that made Rosie think was homophobic? Otherwise, personally I think Clay is a total twit, Kelly an annoying, insipid chatterer, who should be muzzled, but maybe wear surgical gloves to do so next time and Rosie a loudmouth, obnoxious and pushy broad, who should be muzzled also, but at least she is funny at times, which Kelly isn’t and that this whole contretemps is a tempest in a teapot and a very little teapot at that.

    Isn’t it nice that we have The Rosie O’Donnell show back on television? Didn’t it used to be called the The View? I saw the call-in from Kelly Ripa and was angered more by the “talk to the hand” attitude of Rosie at the end of the call. Rosie called Kelly out on national television and then seemed put off by Kelly’s response—you could see the “WHATEVER” look on Rosie’s face!!! I’m am a gay woman and I’m sickened by Rosie and her taking every comment as a bashing. The whole country is going to shit because of all the boo-hooing over something someone said. As a stand-up comedian how many things did you say that offended people? Maybe that was okay because it was supposed to be funny. Or maybe because you weren’t rich and famous yet and couldn’t afford that soapbox you stand on. People say ” I don’t know where your hand has been” all the time—I said it today to a completely straight male co-worker and he didn’t accuse me of calling him filthy or dirty. ROSIE, GET OVER IT ALREADY!!! Has Mr. Aiken called you to thank you for “outing” him? And as a side-note to Ms. Barbara Walters, who I greatly respect as a journalist; Ms. Walters, get rid of Rosie. You’ve had a great show for such a long time but since Rosie came on board, I know several people who will not watch anymore because of the way she pushes HER agendas and the rest of the world is wrong if they don’t agree.

    I don’t tink Kelly R.I.P.a’s remaark was innocent.If you watched the entire show, as I had, you’d know that Kelly had it out for Clay from the beginning. Kelly is no novice. She is the queen of the risque and often smarmy wisecrack. Her whole personality just screams, 24/7, “look at ME!!!Look at ME!!!!” Moreover, you cannot eevaluate her remark by just the words. Her “nudge, nudge, wink, wink” mugging for the camera wile she made the remark gives lie to her claim that it was just an innocent concern about germs.Clearly, it was a vengeful payback to Clay for something that was bugging her.She should not have called him out the way she did. She knows that he is unpolished and unsophisticated and that his gesture reflected that. She aws out for blood. Likewise, her ambush of Rosie on the View proves her nasty intent. She used the same condescending attitude toward’s Rosie..talk about RUDE!!It’s one thing to be racist or homophobic or just a gardewn variety self-righteious hater… it’s far worse to shrug and say”shame on you” to the person who calls you on it. Brava Rosie. She said what was on many perople’s minds. Whether Clay is Gay or not is irrelevant. It is Ripa’s intent that matters and in this case, I believe that her intent was to humliate Clay by bringing up something that he is obviously uncomfortable with.

    Funny I was watching entertainment tonight and it showed Kelly covering regis’s mouth with her hand …I say kelly is a hypocrite when she did the same thing….ANd it was Rosie’s view and thats why they call it the view I don’t think she over reacted now come on if Brad pitt covered kelly ripas mouth you think she would say the same thing to him??I only watch the view because of rosie and her strong opinions….

    They both overreacted. Not only has Kelly put her hand over other people’s mouths (there are videos now to show her hypocrisy), but she totally went overboard to villainize Clay Aiken for a microscopic slight. Rosie was wrong, too, as well.
    Oh, and it’s so mature of you to have a really unflattering picture of Rosie next to a really flattering picture of Kelly, and ask us who is right. Don’t even fake it; you don’t give a shit what we think with that bias.

    I don’t think Kelly was being homophobic at all. It is a well known fact that we get plenty of penis and vagina on our hands each and every day because MOST people do not wash their hands after using the toilet. It is also a well known fact (if one watches Regis and Kelly), that Kelly uses antibiotic hand gel all of the time. She has 3 children and a job and tries very hard not to get sick. Regis and Gelman are both germaphobes. I’m sure that with Regis and Kelly, they both know that the other is clean and has clean hands.
    My wording would have been exactly the same as hers. “I don’t know where that hand has been”. Hell, I hear i t a million times a day as I work in Residential Treatment for children and teens.
    Rosie was just downright wrong here. She had no right to even comment on the situation. It would have gone away had she not gotten into the mix. To top it off, she was rude and obnoxious when Kelly called in.
    I can not stant Rosie. I used to like her but she has a big mouth and doesn’t know when to shut up.
    And…I really can’t stand the fact that Rosie of all people tried to OUT Clay. I doubt that even Rosie knows whether he is gay or not. That was really, really rude of her to do. Remember, she tried to hide her gayness for a long, long time. Hypocritical much?
    I am Against the Forced Outing of gay people. It is their choice to tell or not and Rosie O’Donnell should not be doing it for them. She is as bad as PerezHilton.
    I’m not a Clay Aiken fan and I also don’t hate him. Let the poor kid live his life. If he is in fact gay, he will come out himself sooner or later. He doesn’t need Rosie putting her big mouth into the mix.

    I used to love Rosie so much. Something has happened to her in the past few years that has made her very angry.
    Little Mrs. Ripa, cute little puppy that you just want to give some downers to… she was actually very articulate and stood her ground. I have to say that I was most impressed by the way she “went there” and justified herself.
    Rosie, not so much. She could have at least pretended to pay attention to what was being said. Where, oh where, has my Sleepless in Seattle Rosie gone??
    I know that those of us from the South are not always portrayed in the best light but we laugh along…we know it isn’t about us personally. Does anyone ever get on to Howie Mandel for not shaking hands with his people on Deal or No Deal? He is a complete OCD/Germaphobe and admits to it. As a mom, I would have said the same thing. As an entertainer, I would have said it and done so in such a way as to get a laugh out of the audience. All of those things Kelly did.

    Queens, Bitches, Testosterone dorks, whatever. Ms. Ripa is a hypocrite for feeling the gesture from Gayken was rude, etc. There have been many of times she did the same rudeness to Regis. As far as O’Donnell is concerned, i knew her when she was “straight,” a beautiful person to the core, okay maybe i am defending her. If our president doesn’t stick up for gays, why should we be upset that she does.
