It is just odd to me after all these years of hoax deaths to believe he is really gone. And on top of that all the strange creatures he has encountered to be caught off guard and die so suddenly and tragically. He will be extremely missed.

The news of Steve Irwin death came as a shock to the world. I couldn’t believe this when i first heard it on the tv. He is a jolly nice and daring guy who had the guts that no many people have. It’s really a pity we lost him. Always in memory by people all around the world. Sent my condolences to his family. Be strong for his wife and feel proud for your dad for his kids.

  • Nicole

    Are you guys kidding?
We all knew this was going to happen sooner or later. This should not come as a surprise. He was always taking huge unnecessary risks with his life, taunting really dangerous animals, etc. He even involved his kid in this. None of this sort of behavior shows that he valued his life or that he cared about the possibility of his children growing up without a father or his wife being left a widow. Where was the respect for life? He died just like we all expected: invading some animal’s habitat, bothering it, just being generally reckless as ususal. I’m surprised he didn’t get eaten a long time ago.

  • Karen

I just can’t believe he is gone. I’m stunned. We raised our kids wtaching Croc Hunter. Went to the Movie too. Oh Terry and kids, be strong. Take care,, be safe. Terri, our family thinks your family is very special.
May the Lord grant Steve and his Family peace.
    In Sorrow,

  • acehit

    was steve irwin murderd?
i think its a possibility, lets consider this.
After all these years of animal researching, irwin is the most careful guy in the world with animals, now all of a sudden he gets stung by an underwater stingray!..i dont think so. Think about this, he died underwater, which means nobody really has a full picture of what really happened down there, there’s nothing to prove his crew weren’t in on it. If it was dangerous down there, steve would’ve never gone into that water, so what was it really that killed him. Irwin was saving animals everywhere, this was a major threat to the industries that slaughter and hunt animals for profit, and steve was a major inspiration to the world.
I am not saying i’m right, for all i know it may have been an accident,, but we should be open minded to all the possibilities. if anyone wants to discuss this further, email me at acehit@hotmail.com

Im so so sad, what a great guy, the love of the world goes out to his beautiful family, even in death Steve had taught us something, stingrays arent as harmless as we thought, may his family find peace from their suffering

  • adam clement

just wanted to say acehit is an asshole.
    god bless the dead.

  • Rossana

i can hardly believe it!!! For sure we will miss the one and only “Crocodile hunter”!!!!

  • Shakia

I was so shocked and couldn’t stop crying. Steve was a good man. Funny as hell! I am jealous because no one had or even has as much courage to get close to animals and Steve help people lose their fears over these animals. People fear what they don’t understand and Steve went the extra mile so that we could come to understand these creatures and even love them. My heart and prayers go out to his family and friends. I will miss his great courage and the best sense of humor. To Nicole, your comment is so ignorant and unnecessary! Have a heart! He had respect for his life and he has given animal haters a change of heart and helped more people come to respect animals and not try to kill them all the time. He was FEARLESS, not disrespectful! He went above and beyond and children and adults everywhere loved him for his enthusiasm and love and appreciation for animals. Love you Steve. May Jesus, God and the angels make you feel as loved as you have shared your love here with us.

How many of you have seen this popular quote on a poster:
“live is either a daring adventure or nothing”
    That was Steve.
As for Karen who called him careless and inconsiderate of his family, you’ve got to be kidding!
What you consider as careless stunts, he did them to help conservation efforts around the world. Those stunts contributed greatly to the scientific community. He contributed new knowledge as a result of that.
I don’t view his risks any less worthy than the risks a soldier, policeman, fireman, or news reporters go through. Do you consider them careless?
I think ski divers and thrill seekers are more inconsiderate, they do it only for the adrenaline rush.

Realmente una gran pérdida de un hombre muy sencible que prefirió querer a los animales donde pudo encontrar mas sinceridad q en la especie humana.
    Hasta siempre Steve Irwin.
    Jorge.

  • LEE

I FEEL VERY BAD FOR HIS FAMILY AND HE WAS A NICE GUY. BUT JD DO NOT COMPARE HIM WITH PEOPLE WHO ARE GIVING THERE LIVES FOR YOU AND EVERYONE ELSE THAT CAN READ THIS. I WATCHED A SPECIAL WHEN STEVE WENT TO AN ARMY BASE. HE DIDNT COMPARE HIMSELF TO THE MILITARY. HE TALKED ABOUT THE MILITARY BEING THE FEARLESS ONES.
AND DO NOT GET CONFUSED. LOOK AT THE INCOME OF SOLDIERS, POLICE, AND FIREFIGHTERS. NOW LOOK AT THE INCOME OF TV PERSONALITIES. DO YOU SEE WHERE I AM GOING. AND DONT EVER INCLUDE NEWS REPORTERS WITH HEROS AND PATRIOTS.
    GOD BLESS THE CROC HUNTER.

This is the most shocking news that I have recieved in years. I cannot believe such a wonderful man is not with us anymore, and yes, I say a wonderful man. You can see by the way he was with his wife, children, and the animals that he was a wonderful person.
My heart really goes out to his family. I really wish that there was something I could do.
    Rest in Peace

I was shocked to hear the news. Steve was like the modern Tarzan, he befriended the animals and was like an ambassador for the animal kingdom, he will definitely be missed; my prayers also goes out to his family..

    r.i.p steve, you were great

  • Stace

I’m still in disbelief. He was an amazing, brave and caring man. He will be sorely missed by millions around the world. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends.
We have to keep his legacy alive by continuing to strive for the conservation of all wildlife around the globe.
We love you Steve and you’ll be missed, Mate!!!

Nicole, I can assure you that Steve’s children will be proud of him when they grow up, and even follow on his footsteps.
What did you want him to be? An office employee?
Should people stop becoming police officers just because it’s dangerous?
You don’t see how valuable his work was, do you?
Thank you Steve! You’ll be missed

  • jr

    IN RESPONSE TO LEE,
I DIDN’T SAY THAT STEVE IS EQUAL TO A SOLDIER, WHAT I’M SAYING IS THAT HIS WORK IS NO LESS NOBLE.
SURE! SOLDIERS LAY THEIR LIVES ON THE LINE FOR PEOPLE, STEVE DID IT FOR THE PRESERVATION OF MANY ANIMAL SPECIES, WHICH ARE SO VITAL TO THE ENVIRONMENT.
ALSO, ARE YOU SAYING THAT HE DID IT FOR THE MONEY?
HE DESERVED EVERY PENNY OF IT! THE MAN WORKED EXTREMELY HARD FOR WHAT HE BELIEVED IN! SO WHAT IF HE GOT PAID?
MANY SOLDIERS MAKE LOTS OF MONEY AFTER THEY START WORKING ON THEIR OWN!
    REST IN PEACE STEVIE

    LEE,
