good morning folks! so you’ve gotta admit the comparison of nicole richie & karen carpenter is quite chilling…this week’s STAR magazine tries to shake some sense into ms. richie by plastering her next to one lady who didn’t live to tell about her battle with anorexia (nicole still denies being anorexic) at least these days things are talked about more than back in the 70′s when karen was struggling with her weight & health…such a shame about ms. carpenter – alhtough i love the music she and her brother richard made together it always brings me down just like rainy days & mondays…hopefully nicole is getting her weight on with the help of boyfriend brody jenner who is rumored to be making ms. richie drink protein shakes with soy milk – which i hope she enjoys more than burger king…popbytes over & out for now – xxoo!

    I think it’s sick to say that Nichole looks like she is “in control” of her body. I think us women have to remember that men really don’t like that. Look at Marilynn Monrow. She was a size 16 and EVERYONE thought she was SEXY!

    You are going to die, young lady….I mean it….you look SKINNIER than Karen Carpenter (RIP)….get out of your denial and GET HELP…I mean it!
    I can not believe that her father, Lionel Richie, has not scooped up his daughter for an intervention, and shipped her away to be monitored and FED.
    Someone needs to step in RIGHT NOW, or this girl will be dead very soon.

    At least Karen Carpenter had talent. If Nicole Richie disappeared off the face of the earth it would be no loss. Actually, I hope every no-talent attention whore (yes, you too, Paris) starts following her lead.

    Would people please stop pulling out that old chestnut about Marilyn Monroe? She may have worn a 16 in the 50s and 60s but for the love of god, clothing was sized differently then. If MM were to walk into a Gap or Nordstrom’s today she’d probably take an 8, maybe a 6. Not a 16, not a 14, not even a 12. Have a look at any photo of her in trousers, or the pinup shots. At the height of her popularity she weighed between 120 and 130 pounds.

    I am actually bothered by the fact that they are relating nicole ritchie to karen carpenter. yes nicole ritchie is really thin and has lost a lot of weight, however nicole originally did so with a personal trainer and then she just took it way too far. karen carpenter suffered from anorexia nervosa for years and died not from starvation but because she was refed too quickly and her body could not handle the shock of that much food in her system. there are a lot of thin people in hollywood. however, if anyone is going to be related to karen carpenter it should be kate bosworth. or even tracy gould, though she recovered some time ago.
