Comedienne Laura Kightlinger (Will & Grace, Lucky Louie) is the creator and star of this 8-part, live-action comedy series about two best friends maneuvering through the not-so-glamorous side of Hollywood. Kightlinger also serves as executive producer in conjunction with the team that produced the critically acclaimed IFC series, "Hopeless Pictures."
Synopsis The Minor Accomplishments of Jackie Woodman is a herky-jerky romp through Hollywood, courtesy of Jackie Woodman (Kightlinger) and her best friend, Tara Wentzel (Nicholle Tom, The Nanny, The Book of Ruth): two single women trying to carve a niche in Tinsel Town (and on a few bedposts along the way).
Jackie, a writer for a second rate indie film rag, and Tara, a low-level employee at a film production company, are determined to succeed in this fast paced LA scene. Armed only with willful ignorance, fleeting confidence and poor judgment, this lovable, and barely functional duo continually screw up, yet, somehow manage to persevere and stay best friends.
Hey - I really like the show. I never wrote a critique before. But here goes the thing I like about the show is that two real good friends who get their shit into the red criticize, insult each other yet there isn't anything one wouldn't do for other.
I think the show is hilarious because of the situations they get into. I don't think you could get a better cast of characters on the show including the supporting actors.
I also believe the show brings a touch of humanity because they act like siblings which means they endure more than spouses such as brother brother sister sister sort of thing.
I wish you luck. Hope your show is as successful as the sopranos.
