oh sweet baby jesus there is justice after all! i set my alarm for a very early 530am to see if lisa kudrow would be nominated for an emmy for her work on our beloved the comeback as valerie cherish...and she got it!!! gosh i am so thrilled - i had been keeping my pop fingers crossed all week! congrats to ms. kudrow who SO deserves the nomination...now we just have to see her win! popbytes heading back to bed...xxoo!

PS in my tired state this morning - i didn't even realize that the oh so awesome michael patrick king was nominated for his directing the 'valerie does another classic leno' episode! and although the series didn't get a best comedy series nomination...my other favorite and now defunct show arrested development did! woo hoo!

3:56 p.m. ET: Lisa Kudrow

The Comeback star has been battling "a flu thing" and had forgotten it was Emmy nomination day. "A little defense mechanism," she admits.

In bed dozing, she heard the phone ringing, which was dutifully answered by her husband. "He didn't want to wake me up." After the third call, Kudrow asked what was going on. Then he delivered the news: she'd earned a lead actress Emmy nomination for her work as Valerie Cherish in 13 episodes of the HBO comedy.

Her reaction?

"I smiled. And fell asleep."

Kudrow says The Comeback's status is still up in the air. "Depending on what week it is, I hear another thing. I'm not going to say anything about it. It would be too disapopinting. There's always the possibility of something," she notes wistfully, before adding,"I don't feel done with this character."

Right now, she's just focusing on the nomination.

"It was kind of a relief. Okay. Good. We thought we did a good job. Now we're happy for the validation. We're over the moon!"

i honestly feel such a huge sense of relief that she was nominated. i really think i would have been devestated if i hadn't seen her name this morning. this is so wonderful. congrats to kudrow. valerie lives.

Oh my god! I am soo happy for LK in what I hope will be a positive turn for her. Imagin her emmy win especially now that she has inked a deal with NBC! That would be great if she brought The Comeback to NBC!

I also want to say that Michael Patrick King deserves to win best director! He did an excellent job on Valerie does another Classic Leno!

Maybe I'm biased for Ol' Red, but I think she has a great chance with the Housewives snub. Stockard Channing is a lllooonnngggg shot, Jane K could possibly be in the running (but who watches MitM?,) and Debra Messing never stole the show on W&G.

I think it's down to the vets - Julia Louis Dreyfus and LK. And with Christine being so close to Elaine, GIVE IT TO LK!!!!!!

And then renew The Comeback!

MK, Now that there is even a glimmer of hope for a Comeback comeback. What can we do to help? Originally, I thought it was a lost cause, because I know that the actor who plays her Marky-mark on the show just got a job on a soap, and the girl who plays Juna Milken is joining Lost. But after thinking about it, the only person you really need to continue The Comeback is Lisa Kudrow.(and maybe Paulie G, Mickey, and Jane(spider eyes).

I'm so happy about this. Maybe the show will be renewed or picked up whatever they call it. It sure deserves to be. I am an actor and I can't tell you how many times I watched this show and went OH MY GAWD that is soooo true.

I didn't know until a couple of weeks ago that not everyone loved the show. I was totally shocked that nobody was getting the depth of the character, and the pure comedy genius of the program. I hope she gets the Emmy!
