Beyonce is a wonderful artist. But this video is the absolute worst. Don't get me wrong I'm not tyrna hate, she looks crazy in this video and the "African Dancing" really doesn't go with this kind of song. I really think she just was in a rush to get her music out and she didn't take the time to really sit down and think about the video concept.

Beyonce has star quality no doubt, and she can sing, but there is too much fast movement in this video. She should have just stayed close to her man throughout the video. But she looks like she was close to sexing him right in the video. Calm down B, we know you are crazy about him but damn! And get your weight back up, your body is looking too much like Toni Braxtons in this video. Get your thick legs and hips back. It suits you more in my opinion. The song is cool. Keep the hits coming.

I too was a bit taken back by Beyonce's latest video. Indeed Beyonce is one of the greatest vocalists, dancers, songwriters that we have today, however. The Deja Vu video did not build on the wonderful talent that we've grown accustomed to. Beyonce is elegant, hip, classy, sophisticated, and much more. The choreography in Deja Vu left a great deal to be desired; it was overkill, and sorry to say, tasteless.

Well... I heard the song before I saw the video and I wish it stayed that way. I would turn that song all the way up and I kinda had in mind the way the video would flow...
She needed choreography in there and I agree with one of the other comments, she's overdoing it, while JayZ is playing nonchalant. The beat and the bass and the high hat make the song extremely audible, but the visual - I could do without.

I really, really like Beyonce', I think she is an awesome vocalist, and can take a note where no one has ever dreamed of especially on the Dangerously In Love CD. But honey, this video took me by surprise with you- it had no concept whatsoever. I know the single is titled Deja Vu, but it showed no moral to the story,just bouncing around doing nothing. Her choreography did not even make sense- and she normally has great choreography. But it is what it is!

Loved the video, it definitely has an edge to it. most artists don't have it in them to be daring, who wants to see the same thing all the time ? from what I hear she did the video in Louisiana because she wanted to give it a soulful feel, she did that. She was in the swamp on one of the scenes ( with aligators and snakes ),and it was very humid. The article says that she didn't try to perfect her look at all, that was real sweat on her in the video! to me she just displayed her versatility, everyone has a wild side in 'em....... don't sleep on a classic !

I love the song, the video....the african dance was great (back to the roots). Glad it doesn't look like anything she's done so far, glad she didn't play it safe.....loved that it was risque and avant garde....the artist eye can truly appreciate...BEE, the rest of the world will catch up some day...by then you'll be doing something different and they'll have to try and catch up once more...:)

I think that beyonce can sing, but I dont think she can dance at all. In fact she very overrated. I'm a dancer and and a film major so I analyzed her really well. First of I absolutley loved the song, but the video did not match. Deja vu means soemthing that reminds you of something or someone. It did not show this in the video. Also the editing was really crazy. Usually the editing changes to the beat of the music, but it didn't. she atleats had six different locations in one segment of the video. I dont think they used a steady cam because their were alot of mistakes in the camera movement. If she was going to do African dance in the video she should have at least had african drums as an instrument in her song. Also her outfits were outrageous and looked really out of place. also her and jay z makes the worst couple in the world. Her song are really good she dont need to include him in her songs or her video. the one thing that I did like was that she was by herself dancing instead of having a whole bunch of unnecessary backup dancers

Ok. It's amazing how the media can make people think that one person is the best songwriter, singer, actress, or whatever at the present time. Now I will admit that I do listen to Beyonce's songs b/c they can be catchy. But she is not an innovator. That title can be given to artists like Alicia Keys. But back to Beyonce. When I heard Deja Vu, I thought it was ok until she was singing out of her range and started sounding out of pitch. Then I caught her on MTV to premiere the video. And I hated it b/c after watching it, I was dizzy. Too much going on. Then she said that she came up with the concept and did her own choreography. She also admitted to completing her entire cd in two weeks. She did not even tell her father that she was recording it . Now you all know that in the past, her father made the decisions. And honestly, I think she should keep it that way. And I will admit the Beyonce is a true artist when she stop using her beauty and body to sell her music. And she is not reinventing herself. Janet Jackson comes to mind when I think of that word. With every album, Janet came out with a different look and sound (for example, Control to Rhythm Nation to Janet. to Velvet Rope) And either you liked it or not, but she brought something new to the music industry. So to Beyonce, I wish for her to take a break. I, personally, don't want her to be overwork herself and do an overkill of her career like Mariah. I think she should take time out to reflect, appreciate her blessings, and enjoy time with Jay. You know experience new things so she can have more material. Then maybe she will be able to release an album focusing on her music and not her body parts since that's what she wants. And normally what B wants, B gets. Remember, this is only my opinion.
