What can you say about Star Jones? If her marriage is over it's really not that much of a shocker. We all knew about his ex-gay life.

How could she not know he was gay? He is all over town with his boyfriend!

Divorce is never easy, but being a celebrity makes marriage (or any relationship) hard to maintain. I do not wish either Star or Al any heartache, I hope that there is someway that they can: 1 work things out or 2 be left to deal with their divorce alone.

Everyone can tell he is gay and Star is not enough woman to change his preference for men. I can't stand her anyway. Since she has such an outlandish wedding and made such a production about it, I think her split should be just as publicized. Star is a joke. I am happy to see her exposed for the fake that she is in life. She deserves all the misery life can bring to her.

This marriage did not make any sense. It is not a shock they will split. He does look gay!

June 28, 2006 -- A furious Barbara Walters said yesterday she was blindsided and "betrayed" by Star Jones Reynolds when the formerly corpulent commentator quit "The View" in the middle of a live telecast, and later said she'd been fired.

"I love Star and I was trying to do everything I possibly could - up until this morning, when I was betrayed - to protect her," Walters said.

Jones didn't mention getting axed when she said goodbye on air - but soon afterward, told People magazine her contract had not been renewed for a 10th season on the daily talk show.

"I feel like I was fired," she told the magazine, which posted her interview on the Internet while she was still appearing live on "The View."

Walters was not aware of the posting until after the telecast ended.

"I would have loved for Star to have left and not said, 'I was fired,' and not make it look like the program was somehow being cruel to her," Walters said.

ABC officials did not return repeated calls and it was not known last night if Jones will be seen on "The View" today - or again.

On the air, Jones said, "After much prayer and counsel, I feel like this is the right time to tell you that the show is moving in another direction for its 10th season and I will not be returning as co-host next year."

Walters said ABC brass decided last fall not to renew Jones' contract. "We tried to talk them out of it and we tried to give Star time to redeem herself in the eyes of the audience," she said.

A show source said Jones made her surprise announcement so her fans would turn against the show.

"She took back some control and it doesn't look good for the show," the source said.

"She does have fans and they won't like that she was forced out for Rosie [O'Donnell]," the source said.

Jones and O'Donnell have been feuding for months, ever since O'Donnell blasted Jones for not admitting how she lost 150 pounds so quickly.

Although Jones has never admitted to it, it is believed she underwent gastric-bypass surgery two years ago.

The show has announced that O'Donnell will be joining the show to replace Meredith Vieira.

A show insider was not surprised about Jones' departure, saying she'd made enemies by seeking expensive gifts, such as a diamond-studded pair of boots - and a free wedding.

"She was always very self-absorbed and was always putting the show and the company [ABC] in a very funny position," the insider said. "She would compromise everything by demanding and getting free stuff - breaching all sorts of [ABC owner] Disney policies."

In one instance, the source said, the show's co-hosts were told to attend a meeting where they were asked by producers to stop accepting expensive gifts.

A few weeks later, after appearing on an episode that originated from Dallas, Jones went home with a pair of diamond-studded cowboy boots that had been featured in a fashion segment, according to the source.

Walters also was reported to be furious with Jones' bizarre "bridezilla" behavior before her 2004 wedding, when she demanded free goodies from wedding suppliers in exchange for mentioning their names in magazine articles and on TV.

Jones said through a spokesman that she never accepted any diamond-studded boots and never violated ABC's gifts policy.

Personally, I think it's very sad that 2 women who have been friends for over 9 years have to end a friendship in such a distasteful way. I don't believe that Barbara is the total saint everyone makes her out to be. You don't get that far in the journalism world by being a softie. Star was her friend and co-worker and she knew that the axe was going to fall and said nothing to her, she is one of the producers and she had every right to tell Star long ago. Yes, there have been times when I think Star was "over the top" but she is still very entertaining to listen to and very well versed in many topics. She generally came down the middle of the road and was not so extreme in her opinions, as I am sure R. McDonald will be very short-sighted. On Rosie's old show, if you didn't believe in her way, it seemed you were always wrong and she was right.

I have always enjoyed The View, but once R.M. comes on board, I believe I will enjoy the view somewhere else.

I think Barbara is on crack... She should have been fried by the networks. I am not to sure that she is even a major factor in the show anyway( for ratings). Forget the fact she started it... pre-nups make me really mad. she basically gave her marriage a 2 year shelf life with that one. if you are having problems (although a gay husband is a pretty big one...) knowing that in five months you have to give this person that you are angry at money, you want to get out before that happens. i think it really diminishes the motivation to make a marriage work.

I was delightful to watch Star going from overweight and if hubby was part of this change, it was well worth stars cost to do it. She is truly one of the most genuine glamourous stars on tv. My best to her.

Americans need to get real ! Who cares if Al is a homosexual or has
a homosexual past. The only people who should care is Star, Al, and

to fix the story up, Star was FIRED ! In this country, if you are told
not to come back to work now or on a particular date, its called FIRED !
If you tell the milk man not to come back, YOU FIRED OR TERMINATED HIS SERVICES. Call things what they are and keep it real and people will respect you, even more. her intelligence. For my girlfriends and I, Star always kept it real. So
what she looked out for her health, I am very proud of Star, and I have
not watched the View since she left. Rosie is not interesting, at all,
The View has lost the Black audience, and just as we did Vanessa Williams, we will hold Star in our prayers, and she will be victorious in
her future, afterall she could very well be our next "Johnie Cochran."
That is my hope. She has an understanding of herself, and she

Star will be alright. As Black Women, we have always came out fighting when we were backed up in a corner. ABC & Barbara Walters have

I always liked watching the view, we could all see the double standard of
lack of professionalism, Star is replaced by Rosie who I hope everybody out
there is paying ATTENTION!!!!!!! Rosie is taking the view in a totally diffierent
direction by forcing her gay lifesytle down our throats, making a traditional
husband and wife team seem outdated. Barbara Walters and the "the View"
have clocks ticking, just watch, I mean don't watch!!!!!!!!!!!

Scar Jones deserves what she got. She was not welcomed at the view. Abc did what was nescessary. Her actions spoke louder than words. She was mean to people. She went too far and made everyone upset. She is nothing, but an over rated talker. All she did was complain most of the time. She did not connect with the audience at large. She is a horrible interviewer. She was not only fired from the View/ABC-she was also fired from E! entertainmet red carpet events-Payless canceled her contract and did not renew her-That should tell her something-PEOPLE DO NOT LIKE HER-I FOR ONE NEVER LIKED HER. I met her before and she is mean. She gave me and my guest dirty looks when we were at a restaurant on 5th/60th central park area nyc. I wasn't going to ask for her autograph nor did I want to make small talk with her. All I did was acknowledge her and smile and she frowned and rolled her neck and pretended to call someone on her cell.
I just laughed because my guest is also well known in the music business and is gorgeous. I guess she was jealous of us. I never met a celebrity who was mean to people who are obviously as sophisticated and well dressed as she was and actually better dressed than she was. She had on a pinkish outfit pant suit and that tired weave. She looked like she was forced into the clothing. Her makeup was over done and two shades lighter than her real skin tone.
I am so glad she got fired and never will work for a major network again. After she dissed ABC she will never get another job in tv again! Who would want her? Her approval rating is extremely low. There is a survey on line where she got a 97% hate rating. So only 3% of the viewing population in America likes her. Ha.
She now only has 1 month before she can divorce Al an not have to pay up. I hope Al gets all that he can. Go AL GO get that money hahaha.

The truth of the matter is, no matter if you liked Star or not, it is never easy for a WOMAN!!!!! to go through a divorce. No one knows how Star is feeling right now. Yes she may put on a happy face out in public, but how do you think she feels at home? If you think about it, ou probably will be crying your ass off at home, in private, without the world knowing your true emotion.
