after hearing the indigo girls guest on pink's dear mr. president song - it had me thinking of my dear girls amy ray & emily saliers aka the indigo girls - one of my favorite duo groups of all-time! i have never featured them here on my 'monday .mp3' column - so this week i just had to bring on the girls for y'all!
this week i have selected ghost one of their most beloved songs off their 1992 amazing album rites of passage - i have been so blessed to see these two ladies play live over twenty times - and everytime was a unique experience (i even got in a nasty fight with a mullet lady in arizona!) these gals are true to the bone & heart serious musicians - i just love how they write songs separately but then come together to bring the songs to life in amazing duet style - full o' the most brilliant harmonies & melodies - this track here is actually the 'demo version' of the song which was recently released on their album rarities - this song is so touching and i think often we all are sometimes in love with ghosts (in many forms) from our past...popbytes over & out for now - xxoo!

There’s a letter on the desktop
That I dug out of a drawer
The last truce we ever came to
In our adolescent war
And I start to feel the fever
From the warm air through the screen
You come regular like seasons
Shadowing my dreams...

I love the Indigo Girls. Thanks much for posting the song. I haven't been following them much lately. I took a brief hiatus from music in general for a couple of years. Wierd, I know. I'll have to check out the Rarities album. It sounds way cool.
ps I got to wait on Sara Lee and the rest of the band (minus Amy and Emily) when the Girls were in town once. I did the blubbering fan bit quietly at the wait station. She was very nicel. The rest of the band were snotty--it didn't help that they came in on a weekend evening and were in a hurry.
More on Sara Lee..I just found out a few days ago she'd played in Gang of Four and the Thompson Twins! As much as I'm a bigger fan of the Indigo Girls, I'm more impressed by that genre-wise.
