oh lordy – i hope (and yes pray) that american idol hopeful mandisa doesn’t turn out to be the next anita bryant – a scandal is a brewin’ – i got an email this morning from another blogger telling me about two stories which you can check out here & here – the other night when mandisa sang a song from christian group mary mary – she gave an intro that went a little like this This song goes out to everyone who wants to be free! Your addiction, your lifestyle, your situation may be big. But God is bigger. – what else do you think she could mean by using the word ‘lifestyle’ – this is all quite disappointing as i had really taken to ms. mandisa…free my ass – she needs to free her waistline!



nnow i am having a lot of second thoughts on mandisa – will be very interesting to see what she sings next week – and if she can keep any ‘lifestyle’ comments to her big self – she obviously doesn’t realize that us gays can vote too – so keep yr beliefs to yourself – we don’t need an idol on a narrow-minded soap box! lots of gayish scandals going down on idol – check out blog ‘faded youth’ and his post on record company RCA pulling clay aiken‘s latest album release info from their website…good times – and one more thing – check out a question below that mandisa answered on the idol website…a bible teacher? annointed? oi vey – popbytes over & out for now – xxoo…

    Anyhoo, I’m so disappointed. Mandisa is from Antioch, which is the ghetto of Nashville, TN. I was really rooting for her, being from our area and everything.

    Oh please don’t give any credit to the whole RCA dropping Clays cd date…It was put up by mistake. Clay himself just posted pics of the CD photoshoot on his website, and all is a go. There never was an official release date yet, so the RCA thing was just a mistake. And faded youth is like obsessed with Aiken and are lying by saying that RCA took Clay off the site all together. Uh, last I heard, its not a reason to dump someone from a label because they are gay, and Aiken is not gay, just rumored. But if he were, how would that change his amazing voice? It wouldn’t. Who cares if he is gay, just leave the man alone and let him sing.

    Now this post about Mandisa is very ignorant. I don’t recall her saying anything about about gays or her saying anything negative at all. She simply said that God is bigger than any problem or situation that anyone may have. What’s so wrong with that? At least she’s standing for something positive. And let’s face it. I’m not a homophobic or anything because I don’t judge anyone but homosexuality is a sin. Why would anyone get upset about the truth? Get over yourself

    Wow, I feel smart. I thought she was talking about herself going through troubles with addiction and with acceptance of her lifestyle. Whatevs, hated the performance anyway. I’m more of a Paris Bennett/Chris Daughtrey fan. :)

    i think you need to re read the post. please explain what you think she meant by “lifestyle” then? also, why don’t you read the other stories that were linked so you can see that many other people are talking about this too. her intro comments that she added to her mary mary song made the advocate, that is pretty big in my opinion, but I guess they are all just ignorant sinners too, right? not to mention, you completely contradict yourself when you said “I’m not homophobic because I don’t judge anyone, but homosexuality is a sin. why would anyone get upset about the truth?” I’m surprised you didn’t say the good old, “some of my best friends are gay” line. whatever! so get over yourself. madisa gotz some ‘splaining to do.

    I wasn’t even going to waste my time commenting back to you, but it seems like these days everyone has a problem when it comes to religion. The girl was only trying to say something positive and look at how people blew it out of proportion!! Damn, she can’t say “whatever your problem is God is bigger than that?” WTF??!! Everyone just has to find something to bitch about these days. She said what she said, not knowing that it was going to be a big deal. She didn’t get voted off, or in the bottom 3 so she still has people who didn’t get offended by what she said. Now YOU get over yourself.

    Actually Mandisa has a thyriod problem or something, which is one reason why she’s overweight. So its not just gluttony. She’s said herself she’s been trying to lose weight.
    Lifestyle can mean a lot of things. I didn’t even take it that way. Storm was only trying to explain the religious standpoint of the whole thing, so its not right to make her sound like a skinhead or something. Goodness, I can’t believe people are getting into such a tizzy about one line from an AI contestant. It must’ve been a slow new day over at The Advocate.
    A lot of bloggers are talking about this but we’re not all saying the same things!

    Kim, while I don’t think fat people are fat because of “gluttony” (it is genetics, health problems, emotional problems, or a combo of those), thyroid patients typically only gain around 30lb (30 very *persistent* pounds…) I went untreated for 5 years, went into thyrotoxicosis and nearly into a coma and I still gained “only” 100lb, even though I was an extreme case of bad medical care. Mandisa is way more than 100lb overweight, so crying “it is a thyroid problem” sounds like an excuse to me.

    so what she’s fat ..me 2…..i go from a size 12-16 often….i feel good about myself…gay is wrong two boys or girls is just not meant…u love your mother not another women for sex and feelings….we need to get the problem gay is wrong..i’m not mad at anyone for being gay but it’s nasty to insert a p**** in some guy butt……or a girl kissing a P****y ….that’s why our world is just turned up side down…..so u gay you do not have to tell anyone or show anyone…i like men i kiss them or touch them or dress like a freak… ….
