hey kiddies - as promised my gal dana's musings on the finale of the apprentice last night - oh poor jen - everyone was kinda down on her - read on - and a big shout out to dana for doing this column! its been great having a guest columnist! she is so hired next season! rock on kids!
so, all good things must come to an end. survivor - OVER, bennifer - OVER, the low carb craze - OVER...and finally, the apprentice - OVER.
let me first touch on some more tactical complaints i had of the season finale. first off, who was the network genius that felt trump could fill (and in an entertaining way) a 3-hour show? i mean, the man lacks in any and all personality...not to mention the two finalists. we're not talking a vaudevillian show here, kids. then, was it some sort of intern's idea to bring on the group that first sang the show's theme song? please, it was such a stretched attempt at filling the space. and finally, REGIS PHILBIN?! if it weren't for finding out who would win and seeing my favorites (i.e. raj and wes) again, i might not have tuned in at all.
so, to make a 3 hour story short, when it came down to the final boardroom, jen made a much better case for herself than kelly, but in the end (and this should come as no shock to anyone), kelly was the winner. and he chose the trump project in new york city to be closer to trump.
and what else did we find out last night? omorosa has taken to belly-revealing fashion and has an affinity for jen, ivana still doesn't realize she was a dirty slut when she stripped for manhattan (but her hair and makeup looked great!), sandy still needs to find a good colorist - you're a little too brassy for your complexion, and raj still acts like a cat in heat when around anything that breathes.
so, all in all last night's episode lacked the oomph, the element of surprise and the entertaining qualities one would want to see in a 3 hour episode. but we can look forward to the contender with stallone and sugar ray leonard (because no one caught on that oscar de la hoya's foray into reality tv sucked the big one...that these guys have to give it another try?) and the
3rd season of the apprentice will start in january. and hey, if you're interested in being on the show, they're accepting resumes for the 4th season - maybe i can be ranting and musing about you on here one day.
and a little bit of excitement for what was uneventful last night - last night i was in NYC for a business meeting and had dinner with a girl who went to elementary, junior and senior high school as well as princeton with jen massey from the apprentice...this shouldn't be a shocker...but she was always known as a bitch. just a little twice-removed stardom for you kids!
