So apparently, after being together for nine years, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie made it official a few days ago by getting married. Possibly. Honestly, I don’t think there’s been any confirmation from the happy couple, but everyone on the internet is saying it’s true, so it must be true! Via Us Weekly:
Leave it to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie to pull off the impossible in Hollywood — a secret wedding! The high-profile couple somehow managed to get married in the most low-profile way, at an intimate ceremony in France with just their close friends and family, who couldn’t be more thrilled for the pair. “This was a total surprise, but something they were obviously planning on doing when the time was right,” a source tells Us Weekly of the exciting news. “Everyone is happy for them. It was small and family and friends only, just like they wanted. I’m happy they pulled it off. We all consider them married anyway, but now it’s official.”
Now, one of the bigger debates that’s been happening is on how originally, they weren’t going to get married until gay marriage was universal. So far, not so much. But here’s the thing: As much as I appreciate the thought, the assholes out there who are in power and are actively holding it back probably won’t be swayed by Brangelina not getting married. It’s the thought that counts, but really, why put off happiness to make a political statement when the assholes you’re taking a stand against won’t even budge? Take a stand, make political statements, but do so knowing you’ll make a change.
