Alec Baldwin is going to play a journalist on ‘Law & Order: SVU’

Alec Baldwin

If there are two things we can glean from Alec Baldwin‘s little whine-fest of a New York Magazine article, it’s that he’s not a homophobe (he just talks and acts like one) and that he really, really, really hates the media with a cold, blood-thirsty passion. So of course, Law & Order: SVU being the ever topical show they are, have cast Alec as a journalist in an upcoming media. Page Six reports …

The blowhard, fresh off his rant in New York Magazine about how much he hates the media, is taking hypocrisy to new heights by playing a newspaper columnist in an upcoming episode of Law & Order: SVU. The actor, whose targets in the magazine’s story include his former MSNBC colleagues, will play Jimmy McArthur, “who questions the SVU squad’s motives” during a hate crime-rape investigation, according to NBC’s description of the episode. It’s called “Criminal Stories” and will air March 19. Series co-star Mariska Hargitay, who directed the episode, noted Baldwin’s “fierce commitment.”

So I’m guessing he’s the murderer then? Seriously, you can see this one coming from a mile away: First, SVU always makes the big-name guest star the killer. Second, an evil journalist who undermines the good guy, who turns out to be the killer no less, is totally the kind of thing Alec would commit to. And third, Alec kind of has death-eyes. As in, he has a stare that makes you think he could bat your head off your shoulders. I guess what I’m trying to say is, be sure to catch Alec Baldwin as the evil journalist on SVU.
