Soul stirring crooner Adele continues to take the music charts literally by storm with her new album 21. The British native now returns to the coveted top spot on the U.S. Billboard 200, though with rockers Rise Against, only just trailing, but Adele is not at the top of only one chart, nay, she is no mere one chart-er. Across the puddle, in the UK the singer/songwriter remains at the #1 spot for the NINTH week in a row (trailed very closely by the Strokes album Angles), also recently attaining a record unbroken since the Beatles, holding the top album spot as well as the top singles spot simultaneously (though her single Someone Like You was just knocked off the top spot this week with Nicole Sherzinger’s of the Pussycat Dolls first solo #1 called Don’t Hold Your Breath). Sadly, in Canada though she’s already hit #1 she fell to the second spot this week, behind Rise Against (didn’t see them coming as her stiff competition!). For a sophomore album, only on the market for about a month, Adele is still doing very, very well and with new singles yet to be released in the U.S. i’m sure we’ll be hearing more from her on the charts in the weeks to come.
